Disney will close down an evil exhibit:
Habit Heroes featured animated fitness superheroes ‘Will Power’ and ‘Callie Stenics’ and super-sized villains ‘Snacker’ and ‘Lead Bottom’, who eat junk food and watch too much television. Critics said these characters are insensitive and reinforce stereotypes that obese children are lazy and have poor eating habits. Obesity can sometimes be attributed to genetics and certain medications, and food can be used as a coping mechanism, doctors say. (Source)Actually fat kids ARE lazy and have poor eating habits. Lazy is as lazy does and they are most likely lazy because of their poor eating habits. Hard to be motivated when your body is struggling to use crap as its main fuel source.
There is certainly a bell curve to this, some kids really are just big-boned, those kids also tend to be more muscular.
The important thing is not to accept fat children with poor eating habits as the norm.
"We're appalled to learn that Disney, a traditional hallmark of childhood happiness and joy, has fallen under the shadow of negativity and discrimination," the National Association to Advance Fat Acceptance said in a statement. (Source)Oops, too late.
